The American crocodile (crocodylus acutus) is native to Northern South America. is native to Northern South America and primarily the coast of Colombia. These animals are bred in a closed-circuit ranching system, meaning the animals are bred, hatched and harvested on the ranch. The skins are a byproduct of the meat. Relative to other crocodile species, the American crocodile skin has a narrow flank and wide belly section, with small follicle markings at the bottom of each scale. The lack of follicle markings and ZERO calcium content make for a smooth scale appearance and extremely soft and supple skin.
