American Crocodile Skin
American crocodile skin is commonly used for handbags, footwear, watchbands, garments, belts, wallets and other small leather goods. The American crocodile (crocodylus acutus) is native to Northern South America. is native to Northern South America and primarily the coast of Colombia. These animals are bred in a closed-circuit ranching system, meaning the animals are bred, hatched and harvested on the ranch. The skins are a byproduct of the meat. Relative to other crocodile species, the American crocodile skin has a narrow flank and wide belly section, with small follicle markings at the bottom of each scale. The lack of follicle markings and ZERO calcium content make for a smooth scale appearance and extremely soft and supple skin.
